About the client
Cloudset is a re-commerce platform that rents and resells luxury clothing and accessories. There you can rent a Gucci or Balenciaga and pay for the period you actively use it or simply buy it. Luxury brands enthusiasts and conscious consumption advocates are Cloudset's target audience.
Goal
To draw attention to the startup and introduce it to potential clients, partners and product investors.
What we did
Came up with a strategy
The PR market in Emirates is very competitive. It's not enough to just send the news, you need a link to current situation and trends. We know the market and know that ESG is on in Dubai — 2024 was declared the year of sustinability in the UAE. That's why we focused on the product's sustainability.
Our press release presented a diverse review of the startup. We addressed particular issues the business is facing, mentioned technological effectiveness and emphasized sustainability.
Pitched journalists
We wrote a press release and started offering it on exclusive terms to all media outlets one by one. Arabian Business, a respected business magazine in the UAE with a readership of 5 million, was the first to post a free publication about the launch of the service. Pitching took about a week in total. We contacted 50-70 journalists, 13 of them published the news.
After the first publication, we began mailing to the general medialist. Got responses from Zawya, Fintech Gate, Apparel Resources and other lifestyle and business publications.
Results
During 2 months of cooperation with Cloudset, we had over 13 publications in local media: news, interviews, commentaries.
13 outlets published about the small startup. Even a project at the pre-investment stage can get coverage of millions and dozens of mentions in a couple of months, just like international businesses.
